About Kay-Marie

Kay-Marie is a budding 28-yr-old Caribbean author, broadcast journalist and blogger.

Her passion has always been writing and over the years, that has been combined with her background in Psychology, professional experience in Journalism and interest in all things media and literacy.

As a young, black, Christian, West-Indian female, Fletcher believes that she is often underrepresented or unrepresented in mainstream media. It is for this reason mixed with her born passion for words that she decided to become a professional writer.

She hails from paradise, camouflaged as the Caribbean, on the beautiful yet tiny, twin-island of Trinidad and Tobago. This millennial, however, has an incurable case of wanderlust and aims to take her Caribbean flavor and unique writing style all over the globe.

Fletcher’s goal is to give a voice to the voiceless and for her stories to bring about a conversation of change that is ever so needed today. No matter the genre, she always aims to stay informative, impactful and progressive with her words.

With the way technology has changed the culture, everyone is blogging these days but Fletcher’s writing style sets her apart from the rest. This blog is a mere teaser of what this young, talented, Caribbean writer has to offer.

Fletcher’s Debut Narrative Non-fiction entitled, Believe In Your Own Fairytale, will be released this fall by Elm Hill Books, HarperCollins Publishers.
