Out with the old!

With less than 10 days to go before Christmas, every where you turn you’ll either see someone painting their gates, renovating their roofs, power washing their walls or getting rid of clutter – that’s been accumulated since last Christmas season.

Because that’s just what people do when we’re getting closer to the end of the year.

We prepare our homes (to welcome guests) and more importantly we rid ourselves of the old in order to make space for the new (things).

Today’s blog is therefore entitled – OUT WITH THE OLD.

And my question for today is simple…

How many things, habits, people and fears are YOU willing to get rid of as we prepare for 2019?

Let’s face it, we all have clutter.

Emotional Clutter

Financial Clutter

Relationship Clutter

And the list can go on and on…

Why then, instead of only vacuuming our bedroom carpets and dusting off old ornaments in our living rooms, don’t we get rid of the things and people who no longer serves our greater good before 2019 arrives?

Because trust me, 2019 is coming whether we’re prepared for her or not!

Our advice for you today is:

And we mean ALL OF IT.

And especiallyyyyyy…HIM/HER.

You know who we’re referring to… the exact names that came to mind when you read ‘get rid of it.’

What’s the point of all of this you may ask?

Well, today someone said something, that I’d like to share with you.

He said…

“Finish well 2018.

Its a law of the spirit that you finish it well.

Finish one level well and you are ready to start the next level.

But, if you don’t finish well 2018, you will not begin 2019.

And by this he meant,  2019 will come but if you’re not ready – if you haven’t dealt with the issues of your past – if you don’t try to end it well, you will still be stuck in 2018.

In other words, our new year is totally dependent on how we utilize the rest of 2018.

Therefore, we’d like to encourage that you don’t enter this new year with the same old baggage you’ve been carrying along for toooo many years to count.

It was a difficult 2017 for you and life almost took you out in 2018.

However, we’re here to let you know that with God you can experience a 360 degree turn around for 2019 – IF you are willing to get rid of this clutter now!

And trust me, you can do it!

On the flip side,

I know many of us have already finished 2018 in our minds.

Be honest, we’re over and done with this year.

However, its time for our actions to propel us into a better new year.

No longer should we continue to sweep issues under the rug and consider that cleaning.

Instead, acknowledge that there are jobs that no longer serve you.

There are people that should not be allowed to affect you for 2019 and beyond.

Some chapters must end with this year.

And new things are in store.

A new you can blossom but you’re going to have to get rid of the old.

Old habits that’s been preventing you from fulfilling purpose.

You know yourself.

You know your weaknesses.

You know what angers you.

You know who pushes your buttons.

You know the things you need to ask God to remove.

And, more importantly, the new things you need to ask Him to fill you with.

So, take a moment to ponder on all of these things now.

Heck, write it all down if you have to.

Whatever method suits you best… its time to clean it all out!

One thing I can assure you is, if you ask God to help with the cleaning..

A cluter-free,

depression-free life awaits YOU!

I have an idea…. How about we start getting rid of them together?

Because, trust me, I’ve got some dust in my closet too.

No one’s perfect.

But let’s hurry because the new year is right around the corner!
